Weapon Trade and other Patch Notes

In this article, I would like to share some thoughts about some things from GamesCampus’ last patch notes and event informations:

** Due to some major issues that needs to be addressed before the content can be release, updates for the following content has been delayed until further notices .**

King Jin’s Dungeon & Black Temple in Tibet

What a totally unexpected behaviour of our favorite developer Indy21.

[New]Weapon Options:
Available:
Hermit’s Weapons: 2 ~ 3 options
Black Dragon Weapons: 4 ~ 5 options randomly applied (highest rank).
*dropped weapons from mobs/NPC weapons are not available for weapon options.

There are 5 options such as Very Low, Low, Medium, High, and Very High for weapons (options will be differentiated by type of weapons).

List of weapons that are assorted by doable/non-doable of its weapon type.
*Additional Information will be provided

To be honest, I didn’t get much when I read this. I did understand that it is, most probably, the “additional weapon attributes”-system one was able to see on many different weapon screenshots of the korean 9Dragons version – More than enough such screenshots were presented by other players on GamesCampus’ 9Dragons forum.

I’ve logged in to see if I can find some new things in-game. The so-called “[New]Item Collection (combine system)” seems to be under Living (L) -> Combine (was an inactive button named “Weapon” since 2006). However, I can’t find anything in there, neither on my vagabond character nor a clan character. My guess is that there will only appear something after a certain level or that this part still needs to be implemented and will be done so at a later time.

The so-called “[New]Weapon Options” appears to be under Living (L) -> Action -> Trade [Weapon Trade]. I find the name of this very poorly chosen. This has not much to do with trading the weapon – Some players in GamesCampus’ 9Dragons forum mistook these “Can be traded (0/30)” and “Cannot be traded” weapon informations already as a limitation of the ability to trade the weapon with other players. A better name/description could be found easily. As a good and easy example: Why not “Upgrade [Weapon Upgrade]” instead of “Trade [Weapon Trade]“? Would at least have more to do with the actual process of this option.

That remembers me… How long shall Acclaim’s outdated description of The Cave of The Conqueror’s anti-poison buff stay..? How about fixing the ancient text errors? If you don’t have the time to do it, dear GamesCampus GMs, let me know, and I’ll fix them for free.  Joke aside… You should at least create a sub-forum where your players can report text errors – Just like GamesCampus’ german 9Dragons version’s forum used to have (and I think still has). Oh, and by the way… It is very easy to notice the difference between GamesCampus’ translation and the translation from the previous publishers, especially Acclaim. While powerups translated already before GamesCampus say “WHAT increased by HOWMUCH“, GamesCampus’ translated powerups as “WHAT HOWMUCH increase“. As a veteran 9Dragons player I’m like many others used to that; However, new players get easily confused by it. Maybe GamesCampus should consider to write everything the same way instead of having dozens of ways to explain the same thing.

Anyway… Back to topic: I wanted to see what this “Weapon Trade” thing can do, so I tried all 30 times out with some random weapon.

If you click on “Weapon Trade” under Living (L) -> Action, a new window will appear. Drag and drop the weapon you want to upgrade (or “trade”…) into the window – If the weapon information has a red line saying “Cannot be traded“, you won’t be able to upgrade (or “trade”.) your weapon.

The weapon I used, to see what kind of results this Weapon Trade thing brings, was a [New] Spear, level Floral Crown 8, refined to +5 and with 2 slots. This is the screenshot of it before I tried anything:

And here are all 30 results of my upgrade (or “trade”) trial (ok, I’ll admit… They’re only 28 – Didn’t take the screenshot of number 11 and 18):

I hope these screenshots will help the one or another. However, I’m certain that someone of the community will soon find out more about this system and make a guide about it. Also, according to GamesCampus, “additional Information will be provided” later.

We might write another article about GamesCampus’ latest patch notes and event informations.
